Kavis Alpha sector

The Kavis Alpha sector is a region of space, located on the line separating the Alpha and Beta Quadrants.

Within this sector, there was an unnamed binary system.

Kavis Alpha IV is the fourth planet located in this sector.

In 2366, the USS Enterprise-D dropped off a colony of nanites that were infecting the ship's computer core. These nanites had developed a collective intelligence and consciousness,
and declared war on the Enterprise crew after a scientist killed some of the nanites in order to continue with his experiments. Peace was eventually made, and Captain Jean-Luc Picard declared them a new civilization, and gave them this planet to act as their homeworld.
