Personal History
Kasi was born on the Trill home world to her parents, Rillia and Tarir. From the moment she was born she was her father’s princess. She would rarely be away from his side and when not at school would often accompany him to work at the hospital.
It was on these trips she developed an interest in medicine. Her father worked on the Paediatric ward and seeing the sick children had a profound effect upon Kasi. There was one child in particular that Kasi became very close to, a girl named Cerjess. She had developed a medical condition early in life that meant she required frequent stays in the hospital. The two of them would often play together, running around outside for hours. Occasionally Kasi’s father obtained a private room for Cerjess and would allow Kasi to have a sleep over with her were they would stay up dancing, playing and talking until the earlier hours.
As Kasi got older, she displayed an aptitude with medicine, and she always got on with all the other patients. Because of this, Kasi’s father, who by this point had been made Head of Paediatrics, would under careful supervision allow Kasi to perform some light medical duties.
At age 18 Kasi applied for medical school and despite studying hard and achieving good grades, she did not finish in top 5% of her class, leaving her feeling as though she had let her father down.
After finishing medical school, took up a junior doctor’s position at the hospital. Sadly during this time, her closest friend Cerjess passed away. Her death caused a change in Kasi, making her more determined. She decided she wanted to make a greater impact and decided to apply for Star Fleet.
