Kaelon II

Kaelon II is an inhabited planet, homeworld to the Kaelons, a warp-capable isolationist humanoid species.

They were noted for ritual suicide at the age of 60, in a ceremony called the "Resolution".

The Kaelon system's sun was discovered to be gradually expanding, and its evolution into a red giant threatened to destroy the planet by the 2390s.

The Kaelon people directed virtually all their efforts to revitalize the sun, refusing to evacuate.

Scientist Timicin found a solution, though he would not live to see it in action, due to his peoples' ritual suicide.
