1860 – The first series of photographs of a solar eclipse were taken, in two locations in Spain.
1921 – Famed astronaut John Glenn Jr. is born. He is most known for being the first American astronaut to orbit Earth, as well as being one of the "Mercury Seven", the first group of NASA astronauts.
1966NASA's Gemini 10 launched, setting out on a 70-hour mission that included docking with an orbiting Agena target vehicle.

1992 – A picture of parody band "Les Horribles Cernettes" was taken, which became the first photo posted to the World Wide Web.
