Humanitarianism is the philosophical belief in promoting the value of a Human (or humanoid) life.
One of Star Fleet's primary duties is to offer humanitarian aid whenever possible.
Examples:
- In 2358, Harry Kim joined his parents on a humanitarian mission to a colony shortly after it had suffered from a radiation disaster.
- In 2372, Quark sold food and medicine to Bajoran refugees at cost, describing it as "a generous humanitarian gesture"
