Holosuite
A holosuite is much like a holodeck in that it is a holographic form of interactive entertainment. A holosuite is smaller than a holodeck, and by nature, is more portable as it is modular.
Since holosuites are modular, they have the capability of being much larger than holodecks if they were to be linked together. Taking into account all of these facts, it makes sense that a holosuite tended to be a more commercial product, with a variety of designs.
Generally, holosuites are intended for individual or small group use, unlike holodecks, which are known to accommodate dozens of people.
Holographic programs are able to be run on both holodecks and holosuites, and the compatibility between a program is virtually 100% between a holodeck and a holosuite.
The Ferengi entrepreneur Plegg is credited with designing the first holosuite in the 24th Century, and is responsible for its subsequent spread across the galaxy.
