Gornar
Gornar, also known as Tau Lacertae IX, is the homeworld to the Gorn people.
Located in the Beta Quadrant, this planet is historically recognized as the world on which the First Gorn empires began, on 6000 BC.
A Class M planet, it is the ninth on the Tau Lacertae star system, orbited by two class D moons. A tropical jungle world, the planet's atmosphere traps much of the heat, accounting for the high temperatures.
Due to this, mammals never rose to any type of prominence, with dinosaur-like creatures still roam the wild areas. 45% of the land was usable, and the remainder was covered by swamps and oceans.
The Gorn built many cities near great swamps, equally built above and below ground, covering much of the planet. Many connections between cities were found underground.
The Gorn achieved interstellar travel at least millions of years ago.
