Fire Team
The Fire Team is the basic unit which forms the backbone of the Star Fleet Marine Corps. When boots hit the ground, it is the Fire Teams who press forward and meet the enemies of the Federation head on.
Fire Teams consist of at least 4 enlisted Marines: a Rifleman, a Gunner, an Assistant Gunner, and a Team Leader.

Unit Composition
Rifleman (Pvt-LCpl)
The Rifleman on a Fire Team is armed with a standard-issue PR-1 Assault Rifle, the P-1 Pistol, and a standard issue Marine Tactical Survival Knife. Riflemen, sometimes referred to as the “point-man,” take the lead, making them the “tip of the spear” when entering a hostile area.
Gunner (Pvt-LCpl)
The Gunner on a Fire Team is armed with the MFW-1 Multi-Function Weapon, P-1 Pistol, and a standard issue Marine Tactical Survival Knife. The Gunner serves as a heavy weapons specialist for the Fire Team, providing suppressive fire.
Assistant Gunner (Pvt-LCpl)
The Assistant Gunner is armed with a PR-1 Assault Rifle, a P-1 Pistol, and a standard issue Marine Tactical Survival Knife. The Assistant Gunner protects the Gunner, carries additional external power packs for the MFW-1, and is prepared to take the Gunner’s place should they be incapacitated.
Team Leader (Cpl-LCpl)
The Team Leader is armed with a PR-1 Assault Rifle, a P-1 Pistol, a standard issue Marine Tactical Survival Knife, and 2-4 Photon Grenades. The Team Leader makes decisions on how best to execute the orders of his Squad Leader and Officers above him. He is ultimately responsible for the lives and actions of his team.
Additional Roles
Additional Marines can be added to a Fire Team as needed to fulfill the requirements of a specific mission. These additional Marines can fill almost any role, from engineers and demolition experts, to snipers and more. Their equipment and role within the Team varies wildly, as does their rank.
