Earth Spacedock

Earth Spacedock is a gigantic Starfleet facility in synchronous orbit of Earth. and is able to harbor numerous starships inside its upper, mushroom-formed, section.

• Commissioned in 2259, deemed operational in 2276.

• Was refitted in order to accommodate larger vessels (such as the Galaxy-class) and was completed by 2285.

• In 2286, an unknown probe disabled the entire starbase when said probe reached Earth's orbit. The shutdown happened before any vessels within could be launched, resulting in the shutdown of all vessels inside.

• Has an ever-changing crew complement of roughly 76,625.

• Is known for its extensive medical facilities.

• As opposed to Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards, which orbits Mars and constructs ships, Earth Spacedock is known for repairing them.

• Not an official "Star Base," Spacedock has never been a point of congregation, and is classified instead as a "Space Station."

• Commonly used as an auxiliary location for Starfleet Headquarters, and is often a Starfleet Cadet's first experience "in space."
