Duritanium

Duritanium (or spelling duratanium) is a type of alloy used in construction.

Uses:

• Federation medical tricorders are designed with a duritanium casing.

• In 2151 the Enterprise used raw duritanium and dilithium ore in its construction.

• Shuttlepod hatches were reinforced with duritanium alloy

• A repurposed Cardassian weapon, named "Dreadnought" by the Maquis, was composed primarily of duritanium polyalloy

• Few weapon types were capable of damaging a spacecraft with a duritanium hull to its large extent

• A primary test chamber constructed to house the Omega molecule was protected by a door constructed of solid duritanium that was thirteen centimeters thick

• A containment loss caused the door and door frame to melt
