Personal History

As a young man, necessity become the mother of his education. Being more on the outskirts and of a family that didn’t see the point of Starfleet, he decided to build his own skills by tinkering on broken equipment but trying to get them working again. This led to the creation of an experiment to recreate the Model T ford in an attempt to see how it would have been done in its original time period. The whole project took him nearly three years to complete, but the end result of the struggle and the greased hands made it all worth it. Whether or not he was successful, he simply tried as hard as he could to try and make things work. He did succeed to a minor degree with the ford and it would run for a slight distance, he never could quite figure out why it stopped after a small distance. Despite taking it apart and putting it back together again multiple times. This created a draw in him to go and learn as much as he could in this style of work. As he grew older and he became more skilled, he decided he wanted to try and take the chance to a larger city with more opportunity. He had finally made a decision to move to San Francisco to continue his knowledge and education.

Though his parents didn’t support his efforts, he continually argued that he felt trapped and held back where he was and that he wanted to try and hone his abilities further. They supported more of the traditional style of life. They believed in everything being done by hand rather than machine. No replicators were allowed even in the most difficult of times. They simply wanted to live amongst an honest farming life without assistance from anyone else.

It wouldn’t be long before he found himself home again as his grandmother had found herself with only a little time left. Despite the past between his parents and Starfleet, family always brought them together again. They all stood around her bedside as she slowly passed, and it wasn’t until her autopsy that she would be found with such a simple diagnosis. Over the years she had been diagnosed with hypertension. But the doctors never tried to dig deeper as the medication prescribed helped the cause. However, it wasn’t until her autopsy that it was discovered she suffered from a fatty heart. Something easily curable with Starfleet medical technology rather than a holistic homeopathic doctor.

That night, his parent’s had a sudden change of heart. It was this that was the final push to encourage them to evolved like everyone else, but it wasn’t over night. Gradually they started to make progress toward higher technology and improvement, but it wasn’t until his grandmother died of a misdiagnosis that they would truly start getting along all together again. He was able to stay an additional week or two before the academy was to begin, and along the way he ran into a young man from London who would help give balance to his life.

When he was older, he ended up meeting Zander Black on the way to the academy itself. Through the years they spent time together enjoying various holodeck programs on a regular basis, spending time at the local watering holes, and going out to spend some time playing poker. They both became part of the same class, though ended up going in separate ways in the end still staying in contact. Though they practiced different fields, Zander being more science related and Brennan being more interested in the bulk of a ship. They remained best friends and still are to this day. After a falling out of a previous cadet, Brennan decided to request a transfer to Zander’s dorm in order to maintain his friendship despite the busy schedule. Their relationship continued to improve as they compared theory on quantum mechanics and the fluctuations of warp fields and how to improve them. His desire is to graduate from the academy and immediately be able to contribute to star ships and help fine tune everything he can touch.
