Personal History

Brennan grew up in a technologically advanced family with a strong foundation in mechanics and engineering. However, his family had a long and proud history of military service, dating back to his great-great-grandparents and continuing forward. His mother and father didn’t have the same desire to serve as they did; however, with his great-grandfather serving as an MACO, he desired to carry on the tradition and continue in active duty. When he was fourteen, he wanted to understand weapons and different firearms as well as the starships that can utilize them.

He pursued his endeavors and took up a martial art to fortify his body physically and mentally, studying multiple styles such a Krav Maga, kick boxing, and weight lifting. This is where he ended up meeting his now best friend Zander Black as he became is favorite sparring partner. They constantly tried to one-up each other until they kept balancing each other’s abilities. As his body grew, so did his passion for hunting and weaponry. When he was 18, he got into his first major fight while visiting out of state at a local bar, but found himself on the receiving end of a fight against four individuals who had insulted his lineage by speaking ill of the military and its actions. To a fault, he defended his honor and his family’s name but barely making it out of an otherwise near-death situation. He thought initially his fight was with one individual, but the others came from around the corner and ambushed him. He didn’t win the fight, but he also didn’t lose.

Zander was never one to back off from a fight, either. While Michael was known for taking a more direct approach to the fight, Zander would be the one to grab a beer bottle and smash it, and sneak up behind those who were holding back to stop the fight. When it came time for the academy, though, they mostly went their separate ways in studies. Michael focused his attention on battle, tactics, and weapon systems, while Zander focused on the scientific side, along with some engineering.

He took his lesson from this and applied to Starfleet Academy for the tactical and security divisions to not only learn to protect himself and his ambitions, but also others who would come under serious threat of violence. He has no desire to harm unless necessary, but as soon as someone crosses that line, he will have no qualms about pulling the trigger. His tenure in the academy has been one of focus and patience. He has avoided going to any type of bar as a result of the trauma he suffered.
