Personal History

Harrison was born in a small town called Versailles, Indiana to loving parents. He never had the best of everything, but was not deprived of things he wanted. He had an older brother called Oliver, and he learned that his brother never really liked him, as it meant he had to share his parents affection and attention.

His parents ran a busy restaurant, so he was sent at an early age to preschool, where he formed a friendship with a boy called Aaron. This friendship carried on right through their educational years, and there were even rumours that it was more than just 'good friends.' This was mainly down to the fact that Aaron and Harrison were nearly always together and helped each other with their studying, as neither of them were extremely brainy and had to study hard to pass their school exams and coursework. Harrison passed his final exams with high marks which was a wonderful surprise to his friends and family.

Towards the end of their high school days, there was talk about what they were going to be doing afterwards. His parents wanted him to help with the family business, but Harrison wanted something different. So after talking with Aaron and reading all the information he could lay his hands on, he decided to join Star Fleet and explore the stars. This didn't go down well with his parents, but he was old enough to do as he wanted, so when his high school days were over he filled out the appropriate paperwork.

A few weeks after completing his application form, Harrison received confirmation that his application had been accepted to sit the entrance competition exams. He managed to pass the tests in stress reaction, spatial orientation, and deductive reasoning, but it was very close to the border mark. Nonetheless, his scores were high enough to pass and he was accepted into the Academy as a cadet.

During his Academy years, he was housed in the same room as Aaron. This was so that they could help each other out when things got a little hard, as like school the work was intense and they needed the support of each other to get though it. Harrison found that he liked engineering and he worked himself along that road. After the first year the studying started to take its toll on Harrison and there were numerous occasions when he considered quitting, but after talking with Aaron and other friends, they helped him through the troubled times and he graduated in the top fifteen of his class.

After graduation, Harrison was assigned to the USS Cochrane as an engineer. He managed to fit in, but never stood out from the crowd. When the ship returned from its mission and Harrison was promoted to Ensign, he was reassigned to Earth and Star Fleet Corps of Engineers. He didn't really want to go back to Earth, but in the end thought it might be good for his career prospects. After a few months there, he met a lady called Jemima Clarke. She was a civilian assigned to work with the Chief of Star Fleet Engineering. They hit it off really well and were soon dating. When Harrison got a promotion to full Lieutenant and orders to ship out to the USS Kepler, Jemima went with him.

During his assignment on the Kepler, Harrison proposed to Jemima and they were married, the service being carried out under tradition by the ship Captain. Within months of this marriage, Harrison knew that he was going to be a father and Tallulah was born 7 months later. Three years later he learnt again that he would becoming a father and this time it was a boy who they named Lafayette.

His service time on the USS Kepler was largely uneventful, mapping star clusters and nebulae. There was one incident near the end of a mission which well stay in Harrison's mind for the rest of his life. They were mapping a system when they were attacked by an unknown vessel. The port side shields were disabled, and a massive hole blasted in the ship's hull near the Engineering section. Managing to scramble to the main exit and knowing that his first duty was to the ship, he closed the door and sealed it and had to watch as his colleagues were either blown into space or died from oxygen deprivation. When they managed to get back to Star Base he put in for a promotion to Chief Engineer on the USS Poseidon, but wasn't given the assignment. So he remained on the Kepler working the best he could. Throughout this entire time, Jemima and the Children had been with him and supported him through everything.
