Personal History
Aidan was born on Earth in the city of Dublin but was raised on his parent’s farm in the Irish countryside of County Wicklow. He grew up with his Mother Leanne and his Father Aaron along with his older brother and sister, Connor and Erin.
At the age of just 4, Aidan lost his Mother to a severe house fire on the farm. Whilst this had a huge impact on the rest of his family, Aidan was too young for the event to have any significant impact on his life. He’d retained the memory of seeing his entire home burning down, but it wasn’t until later in Aidan’s life that these memories started to become more upsetting.
Aidan’s Father continued to work on the farm with the help of his brother and sister. When Aidan was old enough, he also contributed to the running of the farm during school vacation periods. Aidan attended the same school up until the age of 18 where his favourite subjects were science and astronomy. His interest in these subjects, particularly astronomy, was the main inspiration for wanting to join Star Fleet.
Neither Aidan nor his family had ever left Earth, or Ireland for that matter due to commitments on the farm. To Aidan’s knowledge, no one from his family had ever been in Star Fleet. His family had been a long line of farmers, and farmers before them. Whilst he was at school, he was uncertain whether to join Star Fleet or to continue with the family tradition and to work as a farmer himself.
By the time Aidan had left school, his sister Erin had left the farm to pursue a career in teaching at the same local school, so Aidan, his brother Conner and their Father continued to work on the farm full time. During this time, Aidan had taken up his first serious hobby, shooting, with his Brother and Father. After working on the farm for a full year, Aidan finally decided to follow his dream by joining Star Fleet, whilst his brother took over the farm following their Father’s retirement.

Hobbies and Pastimes: Specific on-ship holodeck activities include shooting, rock climbing and abseiling. Outdoor pursuits such as camping, hiking and mountaineering when on leave.

Personality: Quiet & slightly shy, but sociable. Aidan shows plain and emotionless facial expressions which only amounts to a calm and gentle attitude.
Sense of Humor: Aidan isn’t particularly the best joker of the pack and he’s not the quickest at coming up with the punch lines either but he enjoys a good laugh with others.

Bad Habits or Vices: A tendency to drink slightly more alcohol than he should on social occasions.
Achievements: Aidan achieved the highest mark in his class at school for his Astronomy project.
Disappointments: Aidan hardly knew his Mother.
Illnesses: No major illnesses.

Fears: Being faced with a disaster in the line of duty i.e. getting caught in the firing line in a combat situation or unable to evacuate a ship in time following a disaster.

Off Duty Clothing Tastes: Jumpers and smart trousers. Occasionally wears slim-fit shirts for social occasions.

Pets: Looked after a large number of farm animals at home, but Aidan currently has no pets.
Friends: Considered his brother, Connor to be his best friend.
Personal Paradigm Shifts
Most Painful Experience: When Aidan was 4, he remembered standing outside the family home on a very cold night, embraced in his older sisters arms whilst watching the farm house burning down to the ground. With Aidan’s brother beside them, they watched as their Father stumbled out of the flames and the wrecking as he unsuccessfully tried to rescue anyone else who may have remained inside. Soon after the event, Aidan remembers his Father explaining to him that his Mother was gone. He knew from that moment that his life would change, but the memories of the fire itself did not become painful and traumatic until Aidan reached a later age.
Best Time: When Aidan was 11, he went on a short camping trip in the country just with his older brother and sister. His brother was old enough to look after Aidan and his sister on his own. When Aidan looks back on the camping trip, he remembers the amount of fun he had and how it was the most enjoyable time of his life.
Most Crucial Experience: When Aidan started working on his Fathers farm, he began to appreciate having a role in society. When he left school and started to work on the farm on a more permanent basis, he valued the importance and the responsibility that came with the job.
Role Model: Aidan’s role model was his older brother, Connor. Connor knew what he wanted to do in life, he had already achieved his own short term goals and he was aware of his long term goals. Aidan admired Connor for that and this encouraged Aidan to pursue what he wanted out of his own life...to join Star Fleet.
