Varyx is the sole inhabitable planet of an otherwise unremarkable system. Located in the Shackleton Expanse, it is home to no native humanoid species and lacks much in the way of resources to support such a species.
The wide savannahs and numerous sandy beaches make it an ideal spot for recreation, if not for the dominant life form on the planet: a form of feline fauna that would not seem out of place in the African interior on Earth.
Larger and greener than Earth lions, the Varyx cat is also notable for the fact that the xenobiologists that discovered them have also come to the belief that they are sentient. Lacking a proper language - or at least one the research team could decipher in their limited time there - it is difficult to determine their sentience, and more research is required.
This hasn't stopped conspiracy theorists from believing that the Varynx cat is either an ancestor of both the Mirak and Caitians, or is otherwise distantly related to both species.
