The primary mission of the Judge Advocate General's Office (often shortened to JAG) is to advise the Federation Council and President on legal matters involving the application of Federation Law pursuant to the Articles of Federation and Starfleet’s General Orders. This includes formulating and effecting policies pertaining to legal services within the Federation.
