|History=Torkav was born of a Vulcan father and a Klingon mother. The two became mated when Hompaq, a worker on a civilian trade vessel visited a Vulcan orbital facility. During the visit, she and Sorvak were involved in lengthy negotiations for a shipment of a rare mineral across the sector, and she became enamored with him. They had continued contact, although he insisted it was 'illogical' for them to pursue a romantic relationship, and remained close, until on one of her visits he went into pon farr. During this, Hompaq and he mated several times, but of course the mating was non-productive. They married under Vulcan custom, and Hompaq settled on Vulcan with him. Over the next ten years they agreed that they wanted to try to have children, and attempted to do so using a variety of methods, finally becoming successful.
