|Friends= No one in particular. Hydish is incredibly social and considers the galaxy to be his best friend.
|History= Both Altairi’s parents were former Starfleet engineers who had quit their jobs to raise him. As a result, he grew up hearing stories about how his father ended up using a warp core as a projectile, or how his mother fought off a group of terrorists with nothing but a hyperspanner. Each story ended up adding more to his growing desire to join Starfleet. So, he applied himself and at the age of 13, asked his parents to teach him everything they knew. By the time he was 16, he had a vast theoretical knowledge of a ship’s systems, but very little practical knowledge on the subject.
Altairi had always been a social child, and tended to make friends wherever he could. However, as a half-human, he struggled with fitting in with other Ktarians and could also be the victim of bullying. But, he continued looking on the bright side of life. When he started his informal engineering training, he tried not to let it interfere with his social life. However, he stopped making new friends, but instead focused on maintaining his past friendships. Some people moved off-world, but he still maintained contact with them.
Once he had accumulated enough knowledge, he felt that he was ready to enlist. So, as soon as he turned 17, he said goodbye to his planet and headed for Star Fleet Academy. During his years in the academy, he picked up an interest in holonovels. By day, he was just trying to get by in class, but at night, he would be writing stories and playing them out in the holodeck. During classes, he would often tune himself out of reality and end up realizing that he missed a few valuable seconds. The issue never really affected too much, as he was always able to make up the lost time. However, he phased out during an engineering exam and upon realizing, ended up rushing through it. In the end, he achieved a passing score, but due to his rushing, he forgot to answer a question. Although, he managed to keep himself in check for future exams. Unlike on Ktaria, no one in the academy seemed to have an issue with his hybrid nature, and so, he found it much easier to make friends. In the end, the only thing that made friendships hard was his near constant cheerful attitude.

|Personality=Altairi is incredibly social and ready to do anything within reason to make people like him.

|Likes= He enjoys making and listening to music, along with reading.
|Dislikes= Altairi hates bullies and everyone who poses a threat to his social life.
|Peeves= Altairi is irritated by annoying noises(ex. Chip crunching, foot tapping, etc.), even though he tries to hide it.
|Habits= Altairi has a bad habit of “exiting reality.”
|Achievements= At the age of 14, Altairi broke the family’s replicator while his parents were out. However, he called upon his limited knowledge and managed to fix it before his parents came back.
|Disappointments= Altairi failed to stay in touch with a few Ktarian friends after he left Ktaris
|Illnesses= Nothing too out of the ordinary.
|Strengths= Intelligent and friendly
|Weaknesses= Too positive at times, and lacking in a lot of practical knowledge
|Fears= Altairi is scared of losing his temper and causing harm to others as a result.
|Prejudices= He considers Cardassians and Ferengi to mostly be horrible people, so he ends up taking longer to warm up to them
|Painful= As a half-human, Altairi stood out from the other Ktarians and occasionally found himself bullied by them. One incident resulted in him losing his temper and lashing out. This ended up starting a full fist fight and Altairi was easily ganged up upon. He came home with bruises all over.
|Time= When he was 16, Altairi’s parents took him off-world to visit the Altair system, which he was named after. The family ended up having all kinds of fun together and he would continue to cherish the memory.
|Crucial= Altairi got lost in a mountain range at the age of 8. All alone, he went for a full 3 hours before his parents found him. The incident caused him to feel the need to surround himself with others and was what made him such a social person.
|Role Model= Altairi looks up to Montgomery “Scotty” Scott, who had served on the Enterprise NCC-1701 as a faithful engineering officer, which is exactly what Altairi aspires to be.
