The Saurians are a lizard-like species from the planet Sauria. They are very intelligent and made excellent Star Fleet officers. They have the unusual ability to breathe several different gases, which make them useful members of landing parties. They are also very strong and have four hearts. The Saurians are members of the United Federation of Planets.
Saurian brandy, bottled since at least 2169, is a famous beverage throughout the Federation.
