Personal History: Maec had been raised all his life with the expectation thrust upon him that he would take on the responsibility of his name, "Tradition-bearer." For many years his father served in the rei'Kara and imposed the sense of duty into him. Maec was a grease monkey at a young age. He wasn't the brightest of students throughout his childhood, but had a lively cheerful attitude that proved to be a resourceful tool of manipulation. All his enthusiasm was put to a sudden halt when his best friend, Courig, died in a construction accident. For Maec the subject is touchy and he avoides discussing it with anyone. Since then he's adopted a cynical view of the world with a spice of pessimism.

When Maec joined the Imperial Academy it was harder than he thought. He was forced to deal with past pressure of being responsible for the carrying on of his family traditions and their honor through service to the Empire. His first few weeks were a metaphysical suffocating vice. He couldn't focus and fell behind in his work. His instructors were ready to give up on him and Maec was ready to give up on himself, but then his father paid him a visit and gave him the pep-talk of his life. Maec learned to control his cynicism and deal with people despite the positive outlook on life that they may have. After struggling to catch up and prove to his instructors that he would even be worthy of serving the Empire in such a capacity, he was assigned the RIS Shadowhawk. They gave him the job he never realized he would find amusing until he delved deep into the realms of engineering for the Empire.
