1572 – A supernova was observed in the Cassiopeia constellation in the Northern Sky. For two weeks, it was brighter than any other star in the sky, as well as visible during the day. By month's end, it began to fade and change color: from bright white, to yellow and orange, to faint reddish light. It was visible to the naked eye for about 16 months, until March 1574.
2402 – The USS Gettysburg, BC-1863 begins her second mission, known as "Hollowed Memories".
