Multiphasic shields are an advanced type of deflector shield technology, capable of protecting a vessel from subspace radiation.

They are also capable of withstanding the heat and radiation that comes with being in close proximity to a star.

Examples of use:

  • In 2376, Tom Paris came into possession of a shuttle equipped with multiphasic shielding. This shielding made it impossible for the Voyager crew to beam Paris off of the shuttle.
