Personal History

Fiona was born on a typical foggy Irish morning at her parents small cottage home. Maggie and Jacob weren't expecting twins but were overjoyed by the two girls, and found it to be a good start to the large family they wanted to have. Being the oldest of her siblings made Fiona appreciate the value of taking care of people and thus began her love for the medical field. She was always running around behind them treating anything from scrapes to setting broken limps.

When she was 17 she begged her mother to let her go to college to study further. She left her small town and set out to apply at a prestigious medical college, but on her way she passed the academy. Without getting permission she joined on a whim and then informed her parents of her intentions. They weren't happy but knew that stubborn Fiona always did as she wanted and that she'd go even if they protested.

The academy proved to be easy for Fiona, she kept her mind focused on her studies and less on making friends with others. She missed her large family, and the home she loved so much. But she knew she had to make them proud of her and not regret letting her leave.

Upon graduation, Fiona was sent to Research Station Seventy-Three-Gamma on the border with the Gamma Quadrant. Officially designated a small-scale testing facility for Impulse Engines, the base itself was little more than a rock in space with a single habitat dome. This meant that Fiona had to spend lots of time in close-quarters with others, fortunately her large family prepared her for this and she soldiered on, despite the repetitive schedule and the fact that aside from the odd Plasma Burn, nothing interesting ever happened on the Station. That was, until the Romulans invaded and Station 73G was abandoned.

The base's single runabout, overloaded and under attack, managed to make it to Federation Lines shortly before the engines gave out. Fiona spent the rest of the war serving as an EMT aboard a Search-and-Rescue craft, flying through battle-sites (and in some cases, actual battles) to retrieve Escape Pods and damaged vessels. For her service and cool-headedness under fire, she was promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade. After the war, there was no need for her with the Search-and-Rescue Team, so she instead began looking for postings in Neurobiology - her chosen field. When an opening appeared on the USS Titan, she jumped at the chance to not only be in her specialised field, but also be in a position to see the galaxy for herself.

Once on the Titan she became aware of the ships need for a Counselor. At some point in her life she had made a choice between being a Neurologist or a counselor. At that time she choose Neurobiology, but had always regretted her decision. When she was asked if she could take over as Counselor she jumped at the chance, but was still baffled that they gave her a chance on short notice. Fiona had high hopes to help everyone on the crew, and be the best counselor she always knew she would be.
