Personal History

Brian was born outside Cleveland, Ohio of Earth. Growing up in the suburbs Brian was a trouble maker and a poor student. He had failed a couple of grades and was in danger of never amounting to anything. With his grades in terrible shape and his personal self image shot, he had begun to resign himself to a life of nothingness when psychologists told him it was all because of his parents divorce.

Things began to change for Brian around the age of 10. This is when a mentor of his, Al DeMason, made him realize his potential. He sat Brian down and went over all the accomplishments he had managed to accrue through all the trouble he had created. He made Brian realize that he was able to pick up on subjects very quickly, helped him realize that his anger fueled his trouble making and guided him in being able to harness the energy the anger created and put it to good use. Brian went on to take honors classes and become an athlete in high school.

Brian became distanced from his father as he grew up. His mother raised him primarily. Brian considers himself an Irishman due to this fact (and that he is over half Irish). As Brian got older, he and his father reconnected somewhat, they now have a decent relationship. Brian's mother and he are very close. She has wished Brian much luck in whatever he does and supported his decision to enter the Academy.

Brian's parents both praised him for what a stunning young man he had become by the time he finished "growing up". Brian was never an explorer until he decided to travel the world on foot. He began what would be a life altering trip right after high school commencement. When Brian believed he had seen everything he could on Earth and the Moon, he began to look to the stars.
