Heglenian shift was the term for a technological attribute of the transporters used by the people of Ligon II. Data noted that the Ligonian transporters were similar to early Star Fleet efforts, but they used the Heglenian shift to convert energy and matter. Federation technology is unable to trace the source of transporters utilizing this attribute.
