A vectored thrust nozzle (also called plasma exhaust port) is a component of an impulse drive that is typically found in the aft of a starship’s hull. It is designed as an exhaust jet and to maximize the use of the plasma exhaust’s energy so that the maximum overall thrust is achieved.
These nozzles can become clogged with EM residue and thus restrict plasma exhaust flow.
