The '''Valkyrie-class Attack Fighter''' is a [[fighter]]-class [[starship]], designed to fit a more diverse mission profile than its predecessors, the [[F-1_Fighter|F-1 “Raptor”]], [[A-1_Fighter|A-1 “Raider”]], and the [[EW-2 Electronic Warfare Fighter|EW-2 "Cat's Eye"]]. It was decided by new Commandant [[Bartlett, Jonathan|General Bartlett]] (formerly of Marine Special Operations and a proponent of the [[XF-2|XF-2 Project]]) to procure cost-effective and combat-tested spacecraft, using the Special Operations-oriented XF-2 as a base, but without many of the bells and whistles that made the former work as a long-range stealth craft.
