Unimatrix 01 is a subsection of the Borg Collective. Drones assigned to this unimatrix operate in close association with the Borg Queen. It contains trillions of drones.
Some members of the group crash-landed on a planet and their link was temporarily severed the Collective.
Seven of Nine was the tertiary adjunct of Unimatrix 01 until her release from the Collective in 2374.
Unimatrix 01 was destroyed in 2378 when an alternate future version of Admiral Kathryn Janeway disrupted the collective with her neurolytic pathogen.
