Due to this the ship has been fitted with a slightly oversized warp core to power ablative armor and a stealth field similar to that used on the USS Columbia. When this field is in play, the ship is harder to target and detect on sensors, and is visually cloaked. This field uses the ship's primary shield emitters and reduces shield power by 40% when in use.
Designed by SFSOCOM engineers, the device is a modified version of the stealth technology tested on the USS Columbia’s Type 9X Shuttlecraft. The original technology featured light-bending abilities that made the shuttlecraft invisible to the naked eye as well as sensor interference technology that allowed it to mimic the conditions that produce sensor glitches and ghosts on the equipment of most known governments and manufacturers. It did not fully hide itself, however, in accordance with the Treaty of Algeron. After the destruction of Bajor and several key Federation facilities by an unknown and potentially new enemy, the decision was made to upgrade the tech. The sensor interference technology was replaced by a more advanced version that effectively hid its target from detection by all known sensor systems. The Type 1X Stealth Device, as it is officially known, is highly classified and cannot be engaged in the presence of other vessels.
USS Reciprocity's warp field emitters have been enhanced to increase cruise and maximum speeds. The ship’s 13 micro-quantum torpedoes and launcher are stored in an inaccessible space meaning that they may not be modified during flight without EVA.

It enhances the abilities of the user to varying degrees depending upon their training and skill with the suit, however it takes time to learn and often there are accidents with users who are unprepared for the level of enhancement offered.
