A medical device that can be inserted under the skin of a subject to record data, which can then be analyzed with a physiometric program. It can also incorporate a homing beacon, allowing a transporter lock to be established on the individual.

Some other examples of usage are to monitor a patient's biochemistry and to determine the modulation of a Borg force field by inserting a bioprobe into the drone.
