Star Base 4 was a Federation star base operating from at least the 2260s.
Historical significance
The survivors of a Federation expedition to planet Triacus were transported to Starbase 4 by the USS Enterprise, NCC-1701 in 2268.
Later in the same year, a shuttlecraft was stolen from the star base by Lokai, a fugitive from the planet Cheron, two weeks before it was found by the Enterprise.
