The SS ''Yeager'' is was a starship in service in the Federation Reserve Fleet, having officially been decommissioned and struck from the Starfleet registry in the late 2380s. The ''Yeager'' is named for Chuck Yeager, the first Human to break the sound barrier in level flight.
===History===
=====Theft=====
On Stardate 202311.25, the ''Yeager'' was undergoing standard maintenance at Outpost Gamma-7. With the majority of the crew on leave, the ship was commandeered by Braggins and a handful of crew from both the ''Philadelphia'' and the ''Yeager''. This was done as part of the cancelled [[Operation Ursa Major]], but the ''Yeager'' soon found herself returned to her rightful owners. This was, however, the end for the veteran ship - Starfleet determined that her age combined with the ease of her theft meant she was more of a liability than a useful resource, and she was once again returned to a surplus depot where she was swiftly stripped of any useful equipment and consumables, and marked for scrappage. The lineage of the ''Yeager'', and indeed the Yeager-type, would continue in the form of the [[USS Yeager, NCC-60097]].
