The Vulcan Science Academy is also known as the "Vulcan Science Institute", as well as its proper name, "Ni'Var Science Institute".

This advanced educational and research institute is located on the planet Vulcan, and is widely considered to be a top-tier educational facility.
The Academy historically accepted only Vulcan members, and until 2250, no Vulcan had ever turned down admission.

During this year, Half-Vulcan, half-Human Spock decided to join Starfleet, due to prejudices the Vulcan community had against him for his mixed blood.

Graduates of the Vulcan Science Academy can apply for the Vulcan Expeditionary Group, a service branch akin to Earth's Starfleet.

Brief History
The "Way of Kolinahr" notes that the Vulcan Science Academy was founded in 399 in the city of ShiKahr, made up of a combination of modern and ancient buildings.

By the mid-22nd Century, the Vulcan Science Academy had spent a great deal of time studying sub-quantum transporting, but with little success.

Earth's expert on transporters, Emory Erickson, tried to access this research, but was continuously denied.

In the mid-2150s, the Vulcan government's and the Vulcan Science Academy's official position on time travel was "skeptical".
