Through 2376 there had been twelve incidences of ships being attacked by unknown assailants in that region of space. No crew belonging to the ships attacked had ever survived until the Delta Flyer, a shuttlecraft belonging to the USS Voyager encountered a Ba'neth in that year. Lieutenant Tuvok was assaulted when he interrupted it downloading tactical information from the Flyers computer.
The This species were found to utilize cloaking technology to help them remain undetected, and to observe other species traveling through their space. Captain Janeway sought the help of Naroq, who had devised a method of illuminating the cloak, to try to find the Ba'neth. Having modified Voyagers deflector dish, and knowing name comes from the cloaking frequency which Tuvok remembered from his scanKesat language, Janeway located a where "Ba'neth space station. At one point, murder was punished with lethal injection for the perpretratorperpetrator. Later, murderers were forced to relive their victim's last moments periodically, by means of inserting the memories of the victim into their brain. The Banea insisted that this was meant as punishment, not torture.

The Benkarans are a humanoid species from the Delta Quadrant, first encountered by the USS Voyager in 2377. They have a slightly wider skull than Humans, and distinctive bone structures around the eyes.  The Benkarans live within the territory controlled by the Nygeans, who view them as predisposed to criminal behavior. Although they only comprise 10% of the overall population, Benkarans make up 80% of the population of Nygean jails. Benkarans are also ten times more likely to be executed for a crime.

Several Benkarans were employed at the Primary Energy Facility on Quarra. One seemed to be a high-ranking monitor, since she worked at a console that controlled the access to main power through out the Capital.

The Benthan are a humanoid, warp -capable species from the planet Benthos , located in the Delta Quadrant.
Physically, they are humanoid with Their physical attributions include a large nasal structure that extends up upwards to their foreheads.   The Federation's first encounter with this species occurred in 2374, when members of this species tried to take the USS Voyager's shuttle in order to retrieve a coaxial warp drive. They were noted for their advanced assault cruisers, as well as their fanatic dedication to their rule of law.   Little is known about this species except for the names of certain organizational structures: their planets Benthos and Bentha were part of the Benthan system; their home government was the Benthan Protectorate; military force was known as the Benthan Guard.

The Botha are a reclusive, apparently humanoid species who inhabit a region of space in the Delta Quadrant. Hostile to outsiders, most vessels which that enter their space are never seen again.
In 2372, the USS Voyager entered their space and attempted to negotiate passage. Almost the entire crew was neutralized in an elaborate series of hallucinations, apparently caused by a powerful psionic field generated by three Bothan ships. The hallucinations began with various elements from the target's memory, and gradually became more inclusive until the person entered a comatose state, trapped in a fantasy reality.
Despite their xenophobic nature and frightful rumors, inhabitants of the Delta Quadrant did not see the Bothans as aggressive, merely reclusive, careful, and protective of their region of space. They were apparently very concerned about vessels attacking their settlements.   In 2372, the USS Voyager entered their space, and attempted to negotiate passage. This allowed her to trigger a resonance burst from the warp core, which blocked the Bothan's psionic field. However, both the Bothan on Voyager and his ships were illusions, disappearing after informing Captain Kathryn Janeway that he had no reason for attacking them other than that he could. The Botha's true nature was never discovered.

After receiving phaser damage from the Delta Flyer, the Chokuzan commander fired a weapon at the shuttle, which disrupted Icheb's tactical console and injured him with omicron radiation. Junior panicked and returned to Voyager for treatment.  Later, when Janeway and Junior returned to the Chokuzan ship, the commander revealed himself taken to be Q, and he was just testing his son's response. It is not stated whether the Chokuzan are a real species or not. clear  === Crystalline Entry === The Crystalline Entity was a powerful, spaceborne creature characterized by a crystalline structure that resembled a large snowflake. It had warp speed travel capability, formidable size, and the ability to consume all life on a planet or starshipBriori system. Its origin was somewhere in primary Delta Quadrantstar.  The Entity functioned is classified as a giant electromagnetic collector and needed constant power, converting organic matter into energy. Once the Entity ravaged a planet, its natural resources were completely stripped. No further life would be able to grow for many years. Everything, including vegetation and bacteria, was completely converted. Bitrious matter was usually deposited in the Entity's wake, as were elevated levels of hydrocarbons, lanthanides, and nitrates. The Entity was unable to penetrate rock lined with both kelbonite and fistrium. Both metals needed to be present in order to refract the Entity's absorption power. The shields of a Galaxy starship were also impervious to the Entity. Dr. Kila Marr was one of the Class G star's foremost experts on the Crystalline Entity, studying twelve attack sites including Forlat III.  The Entity, to which thousands of deaths are attributed, attacked the planet Omicron Theta in 2336, stripping all living material from the entire colony and killing many inhabitants, including Raymond Marr, Kila Marr's son. Colony residents Dr. Noonien Soong and Juliana Soong both fled during the attack aboard an escape pod, although Juliana Soong was severely injured. The android Lore was an ally of the Entity and responsible for luring it to Omicron Theta. He tried to "feed" the crew of the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D to the Entity after he was revived in 2364. Enterprises shields were enough to protect it from the Entity, and Lore was eventually transported into space. The Crystalline Entity retreated to parts unknown.  In 2368, the Crystalline Entity destroyed the fledgling colony on Melona IV. Two colonists, including Carmen Davila, were lost in the attack. Most of the colonists survived, thanks to a cavern lined with kelbonite and fistrium. The Enterprise rescued the survivors and brought Dr. Marr to the planet so she could further study the attack. She worked with Lieutenant Commander Data in order to develop a technique to communicate with the creature. The Enterprise intercepted the Entity after it had killed the entire crew magnitude of a freighter+5, the Kallisko. They attracted the Entity by emitting graviton pulses at 10 per second from the Enterprise, same brightness as lower pulse rates had no effect on the creature. The creature approached the Enterprise, replying with a series of graviton pulses that the Enterprise crew interpreted as meaningful, but which it needed time to decode. Marr increased the pulse rate, eventually trying a continuous graviton emission. The Entity stopped emitting pulses of its own as the emissions drove it into resonance. The Enterprise crew tried to stop the emissions, only to find that Marr had isolated the access code for the emission controls. Before the crew could halt the emissions, the resonance shattered the Entity.  :It is unknown whether the Crystalline Entity was a unique lifeform or simply a single member of a species. clear === Devore === The Devore are a humanoid species native to the Delta Quadrant. However, their internal workings show several differences. Up until the mid-24th century, the Dinaali were plagued with overpopulation, and a medical service that didn't treat the people it needed to. So the Dinaali government asked the Jye to intervene, a species known for their administrative abilities, and they reorganized the Dinaali medical system. In the new system, each citizen received a "T.C." or Treatment coefficient, which designates how useful a person is to society. In 2377, The Doctor was stolen by Gar and sold to a Dinaali medical ship. While there, he tried to "re-allocate" some medication so that the amount of medication a person received was based on how badly they needed it, not how "useful to society" they were.
