| History=
.
The crew did not get much time to rest, as the Avenger soon found itself en-route to Tellar to join the fleet amassing to push the Krynar out of the system. During the battle, Jenny remained at the Helm of the Avenger – flying the Battlecruiser on manual the entire time. When the crew was affected by ‘Enlightenment Orbs’, Jenny felt she was the sole survivor aboard the ship and overrode the Tactical Controls – firing a full volley of twelve Quantum Torpedoes at a Krynar Dreadnought, which disappeared before the results of the volley could be seen. Though she relinquished Tactical Control back to the Avenger’s Chief Tactical Officer following the destruction of the Orbs, Jenny found herself wishing she could fly and fight by herself again – she was missing her Fighter Squadron.
Following the battle, her true position as a member of "Special Operations Command " revealed, Jenny wished to return to one of her father’s squadrons to fill the vacancies caused by casualties in the battle. To her surprise and anger, her father refused and revoked her operational status within Special Operations. The two had a falling out, and after some soul-searching and a conversation with now-Captain Crawford; Jenny decided to remain aboard the Avenger for the time-being.
The next mission saw the Avenger dispatched with a task force to the Krynar home system. Though the mission was a success, Jenny found herself physically and mentally drained from the combat experience and began to doubt her competency and ability to pilot the Avenger in such a way that wouldn’t see her make a mistake that got the rest of the crew killed. To make matters worse, the genocide of the Krynar had left a sour taste in her mouth – bringing uncomfortable memories from her past to the front of her mind. No longer able to stomach the senseless violence, or work with her Department Head; with whom she had been disagreeing more and more, she requested a transfer to the Test Pilot Corps; which was approved without the knowledge of Captain Crawford, who simply thought Jenny was running away, especially considering she had not informed any other members of the crew.
Jenny’s first assignment as a Test Pilot was testing the Avenger’s replacement support ship; an Escort with no name; just the designator ‘ESX-17184’. The ship was a wreck when she first saw it, but Crawford had assigned two other Avenger crewmates to the project to assist her – Jake and the new Tactical Officer, Acenvar Crystillin. It was during the refit process that Jenny confessed to the pair she had transferred away, eliciting an angry response from Jake. Jenny fled the confrontation before it truly began, but was followed by Jake and after a short discussion the two shared their first kiss. Though neither party truly understood what was going on between them, they agreed to discuss it following the test flight.
The test flight was a disaster. Jenny decided to overrule Jake’s suggestion of following the rulebook and stopping to thoroughly check the systems before engaging in a warp test, the result of which saw a near-insignificant flaw in a single circuit-board cause a deviation in the Escort’s flight plan – causing it to enter Klingon space. Though Jenny managed to pilot the Escort back out of Klingon space before it could be identified as a Federation vessel, the ship was severely damaged and Jenny wounded in the arm and chest before it was rescued by her father’s ship, the Anarchy. Though her father was not aboard, the senior officer aboard decided that the incident officially had not happened – the Escort’s computer core was completely wiped, and the ship repaired by Special Operations engineers before being delivered back to Starbase Delta.
Given time off to recuperate; Jenny developed an unlikely friendship with Zephyr Praise, whom she had nearly shot during her breakdown on the Avenger’s Bridge. The two went shopping in an attempt to bond, and Zephyr tried to get Jenny to open up and come out of the shell she had created – to be a young woman for once rather than just a Starfleet Officer. The attempt was successful to a point, until new orders came through from Starfleet Command – Jenny had been assigned as Acting Chief Tactical Officer on the Avenger. Though she desperately wanted to turn the position down, she eventually relented and accepted – realising that it was only one more mission, and would allow her to at least make up for attempting to run away without saying goodbye the first time she had attempted to transfer.
