|Introduction=

Qu'tha was born on the Trill homeworld as the daughter of a Human mother and Trill father. A joke her father likes to tell is that she had an abnormally round, bald head after she was born and that she is his 'Little Queball,' something she has shortened to just plain 'Qu.' Her father worked at the Symbiosis Committee, well her mother was stationed as Security for the committee, which is how they met. Growing up so close to the Symbionts had the opposite effect on Qu'tha, actively stating that she does not want to be joined.

Growing up in the heart of Trill, Qu'tha was always a very sociable child, being the type of girl that everyone felt they could open up too, and was friends with most of the kids in her school. That all changed at the age of ten when she came home to find a stranger leaving her home and found her mother lying naked and bleeding from a slit throat in the middle of their living room. Despite the excellent description that she gave to the authorities, the individual had already boarded a shuttle off-world, and no justice was served.

Qu'tha changed quite a bit following the death of her mother. She had always had an innocence and carefree attitude about her, but learning that 'evil' was more than just in fairy tales put the harshness of reality into her at a young age. Deciding then on her path in life, she expressed that she wanted to join Starfleet. Redirecting her efforts into her studies and being less social with other children. Even if she could not find the one who killed her mother, she swore that she would do whatever she could to avoid another child finding their parent murdered.

Qu'tha entered Starfleet Academy as soon as she was able, at the age of eighteen. It was not an easy transition; since the death of her mother, she had preferred studying on her own as much as possible, the Academy made this less possible. Despite this, she did manage to open up to one fellow cadet, Minchu Torus, a Cadet that was in the Engineering department. They almost seemed to bond over shared tragedy in the loss of a parent.

Specializing in Law Enforcement, Qu'tha still held firm to the ultimate goal of catching her mother's murderer, evening learning of extradition treaties in case she finds the man on a non-Federation world. Law became almost second nature to the young woman, but she made sure she could defend herself and others as well, taking multiple self-defence and combat training. Outside of her studies in Security, Qu'tha decided to minor in Weapons Systems Officer. It was not something that she excelled at, but she felt it would broaden her field of expertise.
