Anlüan was born comfortably in the Sihltal valley overlooking Zürich. For most of his life Anlüan lived in the protection of Star Fleet, the importance of Earth left him oblivious to the external threats to him.
Avalon served as a merchant for most of Anlüan’s childhood, appointed specifically from Star Fleet to the Romulan Empire he would manage most of his company from home, but ocassionally occasionally take trips to the Empire to check up on his business. While on one of these trips, before he was born, he met Sula, a betazoid taking her vacation in the Romulan Empire. After a few drinks with her at the locale bar, he learned she was in Star Fleet--a Medical Lieutenant. He became disinteretesteddisinterested, believing her to be a military indoctranated indoctrinated woman. After that night he did not contact her again. Rather, on his return trip to the Federation his vessel was attack by Orions, the nearby Star Fleet vessel was able to drive them off, but not after they took serious damage and injuries to nearly all the crew. When Avalon awoke, Sula was standing over him attending his wounds and assigning tasks to her subordinates. Her tasks however were rather unorthodox and reprimanded the chain of superiority. Somehow, this dissolvetion dissolution of by-the-book rules gained admiration from Avalon. After the event the two began to date and soon rather than later they were married. Sula was promoted to Commander and was allowed to be reassigned to Earth in preparation for her family. Anlüan was born not long after, and was raised in Zurich. During Celesté’s birth there were some complications and their mother ended up being paralyzed from the waist down.
Life in the valleys was luxouriousluxurious. He didn’t have to worry about many things growing up, except the fact that Matthias was a natural at getting in trouble. School came naturally to him, and so he progressed ahead rather easily. He was raised skiing, and biking, retaining an older way of life. Shuttles and replicators weren’t an important aspect of his life, and only when he turned 10 did Anlüan board a shuttle to travel to Betazed.
Upon entering high school, Anlüan realized his lack therefore of socialization skills. High school forced him to develop these rather unknown skills. In school he met Agnor Furse a Swede student who travelled south to study cultural differentials. Anlüan was taught socialization by Furse after several years Anlüan finally began to understand how to socialize. He also met with Tariq Al-Masr, an Egyptian with whom he shared the awkwardness of his charisma skill. Between the three of them they became rather sympatico.
Concurrently he began to feel his groove in education. The sciences and math were fun for him, although it didn’t seem to suit him. Anlüan took geographical/stellar cartography classes and loved them, excelling especially in navigation. Planning to continue his training in navigation, Anlüan decided to try out some addtional additional classes in business operations and logistical training. Althought Although to him a nuanced difference, he took on a course with Star Fleet’s pre-Academy training in Tactical Logistics and fell into the rythym rhythm of the class. After graduating, Star Fleet recruited him, and Agnor came along with him.
In the Academy Anlüan found his niche in Tactical. He had never had much interest in things such as piloting and weapons until the Academy. He focussed mainly on weapons and navigation as well as piloting, and logistical support. This new field was not only a surpsie surprise to Anlüan, but to his family and friend. His mother loved the idea of him going into Star Fleet even as a Medical officer, his father had some other ideas. While he wasn’t against Star Fleet, Anlüan’s father disliked the idea of his whole job being to shoot at others. Anlüan not being able to convince him otherwise gave up on the idea of trying to coerce his father’s will. Anlüan continued with his path despite his father’s insistanceinsistence, focussing on the operation of a starship as whole--tactically. Piloting, Main Tactical, and Operations were fit into his training repotuare. During his time at the academy he met one Alliovar Crystillin who he befreinded befriended as she was arguing with Agnor over weather or not Vulcan society should be dismanteled dismantled or not. With this strange conversation he began another friendship this time with a half-Vulcan.
