Klingon activity detected in the Vigo System! In a rushed attempt to find answers, the Copernicus is sent to investigate. Captain Elisa Goddard decided to remain behind to relocate civilians, as such Commander Areack Jackson was placed in commander and Lieutenant Commander Gloria Dys put in as First Officer.
This mission was to test a whole new crew. Most officers, and even enlisted were transferred and replaced. Lieutenant Brett Elswin, Lieutenant Seth Harting, Ensign Julio Korbel,Lieutenant Commander Misty Wood, Lieutenant Commander Lideah Brackett, and Lieutenant (Junior Grade) Midshipman Jane Fields replaced the seniority of the Copernicus.
A Klingon space station is found in the Vigo system. The Science department makes the deduction that the Klingons have been creating artificial wormholes, but have not harnessed the ability to effectively control them. Surprisingly, the Klingon Base Commander had made request for the Copernicus’ help. An away team was sent to help the Klingons, but the station entered a wormhole unexpectedly.
A new M-Class world believed to be uninhabited becomes the Copernicus’ new mission target. This planet lays within the borderlands between Federation and Romulan space. A outpost or large installment on the planet could not only mean potential protection from future incursion, but also access to large swaths of dilithium and latnium deposits as confirmed by the USS Cook.
Two away teams lead by Lieutenant Commander Lee Ander and Lieutenant Junior Grade Jane Fields are sent to individual potential-dilithium mining sites. Soon after their dispatchment, the Copernicus had begun to run into targeting troubles. Unable to get a lock or sensor reading the away team let alone the entire planet the mother-vessel was left helpless to assist.
Meanwhile, the Away Teams found that the planet was not uninhabited as first thought. Both away teams come into contact with two separate species: the Nakai and Joran. Both species lived on their homeworld of Kryn’tor, but the Joran had little contact with their technological naïve counterparts the Nakai. The away teams had planned to stay to initiate further communication with the natives but were forced to pull out with the presence of a Romulan warbird.

Captain Stewart resigns commission, and Commander Jaden Hawk takes over. Lieutenant Commander Jane Fields resides as first officer is promoted to Commander and becomes First Officer, due to Commander Gloria Dys being kept at Star Base Alpha.
The Copernicus is assigned to explore the Typhon Expanse. Upon entering the Expanse, the ship underwent critical crew failure. Crewmembers reported seeing Romulans. This caused paranoia with some of the crew. Before they knew it, a thirty-year old Romulan Warbird attacked the vessel with boarding parties. Captain Hawk knew that they would take over the ship and set the ship to self-destruct. For an unknown reason this made the Romulans retreat.

In the interim, Captain Jane Fields took takes command of the Copernicus.
After a two-month long journey, the ships arrives at the Zaniah system. The unknown system ended up as a prize, containing an advanced civilization on its third planet. Much to the crew’s surprise, the planet contacted them. As if prophesied, the President of the planet knew the name, and class of the ship as well as her Captain’s name. From initial thoughts, the crew suspects previous Federation intervention on the planet. As thought, scans confirmed their worries finding extensive Federation power signatures across the planet.
