Changes

The Gettysburg was next dispatched to the planet of New Kanto, where the progenitor Jenny's birth mother was from, in order to negotiate the release of a Star Fleet crew being held on the world. When several members of the Gettysburg's Away Team were kidnapped, Jenny led a rescue mission to retrieve them: they succeeded and casualties were light, but Jenny cursed herself for allowing them to occur, and Captain Crawford was furious that Jenny had dropped the ball and not communicated her plans before embarking on the mission. With the mission over, Jenny took to spending her free time beating on the combat training equipment in the ship's gym or holodeck in order to work through her failures and the reasons for them. Jenny came to the conclusion that a mixture of her genetically-engineered ambition and desire to be worthy of her father's name had caused the incident, and began to investigate measures to free herself from her father's shadow so that she could live her life and forge her own destiny: to begin, she accepted a mission to travel to the fringes of Federation Space to assist in putting down a planetary rebellion, in which Star Fleet personnel had mutinied against the appointed Federation Governor.
