|History=
===Early Life===
Mike was born in London, England and spent most of his life there with his Maternal Grandparents. He was born to Abigail and Jonathan Hobritz, both of whom were serving Starfleet officers and doted on their Son. Both were members of the USS Jolene's crew, Abigail was the First Officer and Jonathan the Chief Tactical Officer. Mike's memories of his parents are few in number and only bits an pieces, but one thing he was certain of was their love.
Following his graduation from High School, while having a keen interest in Engineering, Mike broadened his horizons a little by helping out more at hospitals with his Gran. Though he would find time to help Ernest on a freighter whenever he could. After doing that for nearly two years Hobritz applied to join Starfleet, which was followed by an invitation to take the entrance exam. The young man was delighted to pass the test on the first try, though he truly doubted he could make it.
===Starfleet Academy===
Hobritz left for Starfleet Academy at the age of 18 feeling excited and nervous, though his nervousness reared its ugly head more often. While on the shuttle to the Academy, the soon to be Cadet met Christian Grix. Christian who was also to become a Cadet, would become Mike's best friend over the course of the four years at the Academy, though their personalities were drastically different. Grix was far from quiet and took the bull by the horns, while Mike would tend to stay back and try and keep a low profile. Not that Christian would let his friend be left and insisted in one way or another that they did things together.
