When Beno was born, it was a shock to both of her parents. No one was more surprised than Kirju, he wanted at least one daughter. Now he had a grand daughter, and delighted about it. When she got a little older, both of them spent a lot of time together. Time spent making learning fun, and both grandparents loved spending time with the children. Especially their grand daughter who seemed to be at a disadvantage, because there was such an age difference. Kirju and Beno were always close, ever since she could remember.
As the youngest of three children, Beno always tried hard to fit in with her brothers. They were always off on some wild and crazy adventure, and she would always try and follow. When they were young, they would sneak away to near by lake for some fun, mostly dancing on the beach with some good friends and a big fire. Later in life they would go to an underground club, and they would have a great time. Seeing how she was in her mid teens, the people there were more accepting of her. Even when she started to bring Somial with her, things started to get better. For her being there was more about the self discovery than what was going on, even if it was a lot of fun for them both.
That was about the time that Velaul first seen her, and Beno reminded him of the first host. She was always full of wonder and hope, she also had a lot of potential for the future. While going to these parties, both of them got to observe the other from a distance. This is also when she first discovered the world of science, biology, chemistry, and botany. All of them were challenging to her but she needed something more. Something to do with how complex, and how simple space is at the same time. As a result it lead to a bit more self discovery, and reckless adventures. One of them involved a small shuttle that the family had for years, and they thought it would never fly again. Both of her brothers worked on this shuttle, and even if they knew it could never go in to space it didn't stop them. After a lot of work they did manage to make it fly, but both knew it wouldn't fly for long. The plan was simple, and the flight plan took them over a lake. Beno got wind they were going to take off, and hid in a small closet that was on it.
When things started to go wrong, that is when Beno came out of hiding. It wasn't clear to her where the fire started, but it fried out a lot of the systems. After being told to take a seat, the boys attempted to land the shuttle with no real luck. The last thing that she could remember, was the shuttle hitting the water hard.
While her studies seemed like it was going on day and night, she always took time out for her family, both of them are highly trained chefs who owned their own restaurant. Naturally as tradition went, she would work both in the kitchen and in the lounge. While mixing drinks, and cooking food it helped her understand her studies more. It also gave her the opportunity to understand people more. She also had Somial at her side as usual, a man that she knew ever since both of them were children. They both also had dreams of being joined, and when they were old enough to apply they both went together.
The training that both of them went through was hard, but with her background it made it a bit easier. As the training went on, she finally understood why when there was only ten spots open for joining eleven were selected. That was because the host suddenly became ill, and the symbiont was soon going to be removed.

|Time=Her eighteenth birthday, it was like a big winter formal. It was exactly the kind of party she wanted,never since she seen her first play from Earth. Her escort for the evening was Somial, who has been her best friend for most of her life. Sometimes people even thought the two were a couple, and that was because they were almost always together. The winter wonderland of a setting, with the perfect temperature where it wasn't too hot or cold. Her parents catered the whole thing, and there was nothing replicated about the whole evening.
|Crucial=The last talk she ever had with her Grandfather, he had always encouraged her to follow her heart. He also encouraged her imagination, and most of her writings. Kirju was so proud when he heard his only Grand daughter made the Academy, and for being joined. Those were the two things that he was un able to do, and he couldn't be happier a new legacy was about to begin.
