Temporary Relief of Command
Preoccupied over Tracey's death, Adaran became self-destructive in hir behavior, causing SOCOM to question hir reliability and effectiveness. To deal with the potential problem this could create, they assigned hir what was essentially a suicide mission: to assassinate an important Tal'Shiar officer. Taking Raass Giraath with hir, s/he left command of the Columbia to Captain Imina Sevala and set out for a rouge rogue planet in Romulan space, where a trap had been set for their target. The mission was a success, and the pair managed to fight their way off the world by bloody hand-to-hand battle with Tal'Shiar and Uihvueri soldiers. Adaran's skill at hunting served hir well. S/he managed to take down several enemy soldiers as well as a Uihvueri telepath. The aggression released on the mission was a needed catharsis for hir pain over the loss of Tracey, as s/he was unable to grieve any other way but through letting hir emotions out in violence, and by the time s/he and Giraath rendezvoused with the Columbia, s/he was feeling more hir old self again. Finding the frigate in battle with Tal'Shiar ships just inside the Nuetral Neutral Zone, s/he and Giraath helped them fight off the attackers and return to Federation Space, where s/he once again assumed command of the Columbia. (See Betrayal)
Upon the ship's return to Star Base Bravo, a medals and promotion party was organized at the Pussycat Lounge, a well-known establishment on the base. During the party, the Uihvueri managed to bring a cloaked vessel to within a few hundred meters of the hull and detonated it. The terrorist attack killed over 20,000 people and trapped the Columbia crew in a damaged section of the base. Adaran quickly organized rescue and evacuation efforts, and s/he and hir crew managed to save the lives of multiple civilians before the section lost atmosphere. After making it to safety, s/he continued helping with basewide relief efforts and worked closely with SOCOM on intelligence related to the terrorist attack. ====War Crimes Accusation====

Shortly after the attack, the Columbia was sent back into Romulan territory to extract or eliminate a Federation intelligence agent who had been apprehended by the Tal'Shiar and was being held at the prison base Outpost 19. Upon arrival at the base, they found that the entire crew had been murdered by the agent, who they learned had been used by Uivhueri telepaths as a pawn. Telepathic suggestions had been implanted in his mind, which had caused him to kill the base crew and the other prisoners except for a high-level Uihvueri officer who was then rescued by three nearby cloaked Uihvueri vessels. When the Columbia's presence was made known, a battle ensued. Unknown to them, however, the agent had set the base to self-detonate, and two of the Uihvueri vessels were destroyed in the blast. The third had cloaked and was presumed destroyed as well, but it had actually survived.

Upon returning to Federation space, the Columbia was temporarily diverted to Tellar Prime to fight in the final battle against the Krynar Confederation, however the mission was aborted, and the ship made its way to Star Base Bravo. It was once again diverted to rendezvous with the USS Quasar. Meeting with Rear Admiral Wayne once they arrived, Adaran was informed that the Tal'Shiar had accused hir of war crimes regarding the destruction of Outpost 19, blaming hir for the deaths of the crew. The Uihvueri ship which had escaped had provided video evidence of the Columbia's presence. S/he was to be turned over to the Romulans.

Adaran knew that the charges were trumped up and felt that Star Fleet was using hir for political purposes, but there was little s/he could do without making the situation worse for hirself or hir crew. Hir plan was to allow hirself to be turned over and then s/he would make an attempt at escape. S/he was unaware though that a Federation telepath had placed a suggestion into hir mind that would set off a joint plan by the Romulan government and the 2nd Fleet Commander to assassinate the Tal'Shiar leadership and cripple their main base. The suggestion was activated by a Romulan agent, and s/he escaped the transport shuttle and commandeered a Romulan scout ship, heading towards the Mendaissa system.

A faction within SOCOM caught wind of the plan and decided to foil it, fearing that it might bring the Federation into the then current Romulan civil war, and the core crewmembers of the Columbia, which had been slated for decommission, were recruited to help stop Adaran, stealing the frigate and going after hir. They managed to find hir and rescue hir but were too late to prevent the plan from being implemented. Adaran was brought out of hir suggestive state, and s/he took the ship back to Federation space, where they all turned themselves in to face court martial proceedings. The trail ended up being part of a wider conspiracy investigation of zh'Matis, and charges were dropped against them, as they had all been used against their will.
