1944 - The first A4 (ie the V2-Vergltungswaffen2) rocket attack on London with 1000 launched occurred.
1958 - Lt. RH Tabor wore a Navy developed pressure suit in a 72 hour simulated flight with altitudes as high as high as 139,000 ft which was a major test for the spacesuits used in the US' Mercury program.
1959 - The Atlas becomes the first American InterContinental Ballistic Missile became operational.
