Rank Graphic in Profile
This article or section requires an update. |
Here on Federation Space, we have a particular way of formatting our forum profiles. This article will walk you through how to update the profile and make sure the rank pips display properly, as per our guidelines.
Contents
Access Editing Area
The first step is to access the editing area.
- Go to the forum.
- Top right of the board, click on the Edit Profile link.
- Enter your username and password for the account you're editing.
- You will be taken to the editing area. This will also allow you to update your email address, MSN information, and add the link to your character's bio.
Character's Name
Under the "Information About You" section you'll find the Full Name field. Your Full Name is the name that will display next to your posts. This should reflect your rank and character's last name.
- Enter your rank.
- Do not put a period following the rank.
- Enter your character's last name.
Example: If your character's rank and name are Lieutenant Jamie Smith...
Full Name: Lt Smith
Example: If your character's rank and name are Arrain S'Tev Tal...
Full Name: Arrain Tal
Assignment
Under the "Additional Personal Information" section you'll find Assignment. This is the ship or station that you are assigned to. You will want to include your ship's designation, the name, and the registry. Note that Romulan vessels don't have registry.
Example: If your character's assignment is the USS Galileo, GEC-9015...
Additional Personal Information: USS Galileo, GEC-9015
Example: If your character's assignment is the RIS Bloodwing...
Additional Personal Information: RIS Bloodwing

Star Fleet
- In the Position line, write \ch{br}\clipart2{DEP-@##}\ch{br}\ch{br}POSITION
- DEP will become the first three letters of your department. Example: Engineering becomes eng
- @ determines if you are an Officer or an Enlisted. Mark o for officer, and e for enlisted.
- ## is a set of numbers that determines your rank pip.
- Midshipman - 01
- Ensign - 02
- Lieutenant Junior Grade - 03
- Lieutenant - 04
- Lieutenant Commander - 05
- Commander - 06
- Captain - 07
- Commodore - 08
- Rear Admiral - 09
- Vice Admiral - 10
- Admiral - 11
- Fleet Admiral - 12
- Next, POSITION becomes your positional title (ie: Engineer, security officer, Chief Medical Officer).
Example: If your character's rank, name, and department are Lieutenant Jamie Smith, Engineering...
Position: \ch{br}\clipart2{eng-o04}\ch{br}\ch{br}Engineer
Romulan
- In the Position line, write \ch{br}\clipart2{Rom-RANK}\ch{br}\ch{br}POSITION
- RANK is a set of numbers and letters that determines your rank pip.
- erei'Erein - 01-SubLt
- Erein - 02-Lt
- Arrain - 03-Cent
- erei'Riov - 04-SubComd
- Riov - 05-Comd
