Operations officers (also known as "ops") is an engineering and tactical position aboard Star Fleet starships that evolved from older 23rd century positions.
Operations is concerned with internal systems control, sensors, transporters, and communications. Furthermore, ops personnel coordinate the scheduling of resources, hardware and system usage for an entire starship, outpost or space station. Operations also coordinate repair teams in conjunction with the Chief Engineer when the CE is not present on the bridge.
Operations officer usual require knowledge in Science, Engineering, and Tactical divisions.
