Medical Kits

Medical kits, also known as medkits or medikits are receptacles used by Star Fleet medical practitioners and officers that contain medical equipment. They are usually found in strategic locations around the starship for emergency situations, and are always taken on an away mission.

The standard medical kit contains a variety of equipment including:

• A medical tricorder
• Two hyposprays preloaded with up to six pharmaceuticals each, such as cordrazine, Masiform D, a neural paralyzer, styrolite, melanex, and tri-ox compound.
• A dermal regenerator
• A tourniquet
• Gauze
• Other emergency equipment

Some medical officers have their own personal medikit with extra items that they use for away team situations.
