A Lambda Field Generator is a field generator which produced something called lambda waves.
Inside the United Federation of Planets, these generators were available from Starfleet Material Supply Command, and operational specifications on these generators were detailed and readily available in the Starfleet material supply command database.
These generators can be used in conjunction with a Krieger wave converter to produce Krieger waves. The converter required a minimum of five thousand kilometers' distance between the two in order for the lambda field to produce parallel rays of light.
