Personal History

L'May was born aboard the Saturn Station, a Starfleet research facility orbiting Saturn. At that time stage her dad was a Lieutenant in the engineering corps aboard the station. She had an older brother and sister, non identical twins and later a younger sister.

L'May grew up aboard the station, playing hide and go seek and other children games with her brother and sisters. Everybody knew them and it was like an extended family. Being one of only a hand full of children on the station she was spoiled regularly. Starfleet was in her blood, the research facility hardly ever saw visitors and she was never exposed to anything else. L'May excelled in art and was fond of painting pictures for the various members aboard the station.

At the age of twelve her father was promoted to Commander and offered a post on Earth. He decided it would be a welcome change for the family and they all relocated. At this stage, the twins had completed there starfleet training at the Academy. As they left for Earth, her eldest sister returned to the Saturn station to flow in her father's footsteps. Her brother graduated into the security field, but to their fathers horror resigned a year later. He took up a post as a police officer the same year.

As her brother and sister excelled, L'May sank into a depression. Life on Earth was not what she had imagined. Children were rude and insulting, and there were so many of them. Trying to fit in, L'May got mixed up with the wrong group of kids, and her downward spiral continued. Her artwork also found a new canvas, that of her arm. She became disrespectful and a brat. At age thirteen, she started using designer drugs and it wasn't long before her pocket money could not support her habit.

Shoplifting and pick pocketing became almost second nature to her. One night on a shoplifting spree, she went out with two other teens, something she did not normally do. When the shop owner caught them, one of the youths pulled out a phaser. They were unaware that the owner had activated a silent alarm. Before they could leave, the police were on the doorstep. As faith would have it, it was her brother who responded. The youth fired upon the police, but was killed in the return fire by her brother.

L'May was arrested by her own brother and sentenced to a rehab facility. She spent the next three years in the facility. She was free to leave after the first, but stayed on as a counselor and studied through them. She also became tattoo artist in her second year and took a keen interest in the sciences.

L'May left the rehab facility at the age of 17 and joined the Starfleet academy. She had found her way again and had to prove it to her family, who had always been by her side.

With the launch of a new ship, the USS Columbia, L’May finally got a chance to serve on a Federation ship. While on the ship, L’May became good friends with a Bajoran security officer, Don West. She also had her eye on a tactical officer, but was beaten to her by the ship’s Captain Adaran 225. L’May worked hard in the back ground, but soon found out that Columbia wasn’t a place for scientific discoveries.

With L’May’s small frame, it made no sense to join the security department, but she wanted to be of more use to the ship. L’May decided to do a paramedic course, to get her into the Medical department. Once her transfer was accepted, she enrolled herself on a nursing course, to broaden her knowledge.
