Duotronics

A duotronic-based data-input bridge console.

The duotronic computer was invented by Doctor Richard Daystrom in 2243 and was the primary computing platform for all Star Fleet vessels for eighty years. It was revolutionary in its time, increasing a starship computer’s power and speed. Elements of this technology were also used in sensor technology.

Duotronics were eventually replaced in 2329 by isolinear circuitry.
