Division
A Division consists of three Brigades and one Battalion under the direction of a Division Sergeant Major and a Division Commander.
A Division generally contains a minimum of 29,082 Marines.

Unit Composition
First Brigade
Consists of four Regiments, a Sergeant Major, and a Brigade Commander.
Second Brigade
Consists of four Regiments, a Sergeant Major, and a Brigade Commander.
Third Brigade
Consists of four Regiments, a Sergeant Major, and a Brigade Commander.
H&S Battalion
Consists of four Companies, a Battalion Sergeant Major, and a Battalion Commander. The H&S Battalion is responsible for protecting the Division’s headquarters, and providing support operations such as repair, resupply, and search and rescue operations as needed.
Division Sergeant Major (SgtMaj)
Generally avoids combat, but like all Marines is armed with a P-1 Pistol and a standard issue Marine Tactical Survival Knife at all times during combat operations. The Division Sergeant Major is responsible for coordinating the Regimens, and assisting the Division Brigade Commander.
Division Commander (MGen-LGen)
Generally avoids combat, but like all Marines is armed with a P-1 Pistol and a standard issue Marine Tactical Survival Knife at all times during combat operations. The Division Commander provides leadership to the Brigade and the Regiments that make it up. As a General, a Division Commander is considered a high priority asset, and as such is accompanied by an armed Marine escort at all times.
