Stardate 21312.05. Captain Valentina Gagarin recording –

Well there isn’t much more to tell about the Deltans so I’m going to leave that where it was in my last log. So much else has happened since then that it seems silly to think about now.

We were preparing to return from the comet-ship to the runabout when Commander Fiore beamed us back without permission. Though her continuous need to take over situations is annoying, she had good reason this time. We had received a message from Admiral Wueste that the Krynar had entered the Sol System in force. They were surrounding Earth.

Of course this hit many of us, if not all of us very hard, especially those of us who grew up on Earth. We haven’t had a direct threat to Earth since Starbase 1 was destroyed by the Borg. That was a frightening enough time while I was at the Academy, but at least I was on Earth, ready to defend her. Now we’re so far away there is almost nothing we can do.

We immediately contacted the Chin’toka, which had left the comet-ship to help a ship in distress. The Chin’toka successfully rescued the crew of the Horizontal Jig, and we met up several hours later on our way to Earth. It’s going to take us 19 days to get back home. By then who knows what will have happened.

Lieutenant Commander Mick Roland

[It’s been a busy couple of weeks, thus my reason for not posting this log sooner. I’ll get to that in a moment. The Chin’toka was initially ordered to track a comet that was traveling straight into the heart of Federation space, while at the same time making erratic course changes occasionally – suspicious to say the least.

Contact was made with a ship that had a comet, elemental crust on the exterior that was housing a ship full of Deltans from a different space-time on the interior.

A distress call came in from a civilian ship a few light years away and the Chin’toka was the closest able to respond. We left a runabout for the Captain and her away team and departed for the Jig.

During our investigation and attempt at stabilizing the Jig ship and crew, we discovered it would take a significant amount of time to repair. Commander Codey fell ill with something that looked like the virus that infected the Sheridan and I relieved him of command. He did fully recover with no danger to the crew.

We were notified of a Krynar position about 300,000 kilometers from Earth and ordered in a transmission from Admiral Wueste to make haste to sector 001. We quickly beamed aboard the surviving crew of the Jig,, and we’ve been in route ever since, making preparations. The Jig crew was delivered to their chosen destination in route, and a pickup arranged for their ship

We’ve since been ordered to the Tellar system to await further orders and engage the enemy there. We’ll be prepared.
